Serica Energy has been granted full approval to develop the Belinda field in the UK Central North Sea. The final permit for the offshore development came from the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA).

Serica, which solely owns and operates Belinda, expects to start drilling works in the first half of 2025. Once this stage is complete, the company said that Belinda will be tied back to the Triton floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit.

Belinda was discovered in 1990 and assessed in 2016. The operator estimates that the offshore field holds a reserve of almost 5 million barrels of oil equivalent (mboe). Production is scheduled for 2026.
