Weatherford International plc (NYSE: WFT) and Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd., a subsidiary of Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) today announced the successful test runs of the logging apparatus Heatwave ™ Extreme (HEX) with triple combo technology and LWD (Logging While Drilling).

The first test run was on 6 September 2016 at a well in the Gulf of Thailand finished, which had a depth of more than 14,000 feet and a maximum circulation temperature of 198 ° C (388 ° F). The HEX triple combo unit with LWD provided extensive measurements during the drilling. Since then, the technology has been used in nine additional drill holes, with no work breakdowns at the drilling sites. Further assignments are planned.

The HEX-triple combo technology was developed in cooperation between Weatherford and Chevron Thailand during the second phase of the HEX project, for the first time in November 2015 was announced. After the successful implementation of the first phase of the HEX-services - and the award of 2015 SPE Thailand e & P Annual Awards Program - moved the team focuses on the use of high-temperature technology in the measurement of all triple-combo LWD values.
