Adlington, Lancashire: For a fourth consecutive year and as part of Carrington Textiles’ growth plan in the Middle East, the textile manufacturer attended Intersec in Dubai last week, showcasing their wide range of protective and high quality fabrics to visitors from all over the world.

Intersec is the leading trade fair for security, safety and fire protection in the Middle East and represents a key opportunity for the company to strengthen relationships with current customers and build new ones with potential businesses in the region.

Located at the entrance to hall 8, our stand was built to be environmentally friendly with up to 40% of the materials used from our previous Intersec exhibitions. Specially designed as an open, bright and welcoming space to showcase the company’s fabric ranges, the stand also featured finished garments with the idea of showing the potential of our workwear, flame retardant, defence and waterproof fabrics to garment makers and end users.

During the three-day event, Carrington Textiles attracted a number of high-end garment manufacturers as well as representatives from armed forces, oil & gas, utilities and heavy industry, being our flame retardant and workwear fabrics the most popular products.

About the company’s success in the region, Sales & Marketing Director Paul Farrell explained: “The Middle East is an area of constant growth for Carrington Textiles, with the increased demand for technical fabrics by the oil & gas and utilities companies. Our joint venture with a local distributor in the United Arab Emirates gives us competitive distribution capabilities in the region. From our warehouse in Sharjah, near Dubai, we can serve the 6 GCC countries making us an attractive player in the protective textiles sector.”

Carrington Textiles currently stocks over 150,000 metres of fabric in Sharjah, focusing on lightweight, comfortable and durable products like Teredo, as well as more technical fabrics with advanced comfort and durability, such as Flametuff 250 AS.
