The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), will welcome a record number of National and International Oil Companies this year, organisers have revealed.

The 17th edition and 30th anniversary of the world’s landmark oil and gas event continues to drive significant global interest, with the total number of confirmed National Oil Companies (NOCs) and International Oil Companies (IOCs) reaching 33 participants, breaking ADIPEC’s previous records.

Sixteen NOCs and 17 IOCs have confirmed their presence, cementing ADIPEC 2014 as a global meeting point where movers and shakers in the industry can share knowledge and exchange ideas on addressing global energy needs.

Fedor Klimkin, Press and Communication Officer at LUKOIL Overseas Service B.V. in Dubai, said: “As Russia’s largest privately-owned and publicly traded company, LUKOIL is focused on expanding its resource base and diversifying its international business geography. While international projects currently account for over 10 per cent of the company’s total production, its development strategy envisages doubling this figure in the near term. The Middle East plays a pivotal role in this strategy, and that is why LUKOIL is coming to ADIPEC for the first time this year.”

“Development in the energy sector is driven by collaboration. Major exhibitions like ADIPEC offer us the opportunity to network with our peers and learn from others in the industry. They also allow us to emphasise the role of collaboration in our company's growth and success. We will be meeting representatives from various countries in the region, allowing us to further deepen our collaboration here.”

NOCs new to ADIPEC this year include Mexico-based PEMEX and Indonesia-based PERTAMINA, which will be joining the ranks of key market players, including the Kuwait Oil Corporation, Qatar Petroleum, Saudi Aramco, and the China Petroleum Technology & Development Corporation. IOCs from Russia, Italy, and South Korea have also announced their participation, together with companies representing the US, Norway and the Netherlands.

Christopher Hudson, Senior Vice President, Energy at dmg events, said: “The growing interest from both major industry players and emerging markets demonstrates how ADIPEC will continue to raise Abu Dhabi’s profile as a global knowledge hub for the energy sector.”

“ADIPEC 2014 gives industry leaders the perfect platform to exchange ideas that will shape the future of the industry. It is an opportunity for major market players to share ground-breaking research, and for emerging markets to learn best practice.”

The event will feature 20 international pavilions, a 25 per cent increase from last year, with the participation of the world’s major oil producers, including the US, China, Canada, and Mexico.
