Saipem has been awarded two new contracts for offshore projects in the Black and North Seas. Combined, the value of the contracts is estimated at US$850m.

The first of them was granted by Turkish Petroleum. According to the agreement, Saipem will handle front-end engineering design (FEED) and engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) works of the second development phase of the Sakarya gas project in the Black Sea.

Saipem has recently completed Sakarya’s first development phase, a work that was contracted by Turkish Petroleum in 2021.

The remaining contract came from EnQuest Heather, which requires Saipem to carry out decommissioning services for the Thistle A Platform in the North Sea. This unit was installed and started operations in 1976.

Saipem will be responsible for engineering, preparation, removal, and disposal of the Thistle A jacket and topsides. Other subsea facilities can also be covered by the contract by an extension.
