The United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has granted a three-year deadline extension for Tellurian to complete the construction of the Driftwood liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal.

To be located on the US Gulf Coast, the facility's original schedule determined the limit date for the conclusion of civil works, which has now been moved to 2029, in 2026.

With five plants, 20 trains, three storage tanks and berths, Driftwood is planned to feature a capacity of 27.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).

Initial production is expected in 2027.
