Pembina Pipeline and the Haisla Nation have agreed to postpone a final investment decision (FID) on the Cedar liquefied natural gas (LNG) project to mid-2024. Issues such as binding commercial offtake, third-party consents and project financing still require solutions before the FID stage.

The Cedar floating LNG terminal in British Columbia, Canada, will be built within the Haisla Nation's territory. The facility will be powered by renewable energy from BC Hydro.

The project has already advanced several stages, including the announcement of an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with SHI and Black & Veatch earlier this year.
