Emerson is establishing a new automation services and operations centre in Qatar’s Umm Alhoul Free Zone. The 3,500-square-metre facility will support customers in Qatar and across the Middle East and Africa, with flow calibration and control-system integration among its key capabilities.

Announced on 21 September, the Emerson Middle East & Africa Service Center is planned to include a certified in-country flow calibration laboratory. The company says it will accommodate large flow meters used in high-pressure and high-volume operations.

Other planned services include measurement instrumentation support, spare-parts distribution, customer training and staging and integration of distributed control systems. For process operators, bringing these capabilities together locally could reduce equipment turnaround times and support project delivery.

The opening is scheduled in phases. Control-system staging, measurement services, inventory and training operations are planned for December 2026, while the certified flow calibration laboratory is expected to open in early 2027.

Emerson formalised the announcement with Qatar Free Zones Authority. The investment expands the company’s regional automation infrastructure, adding support for the measurement and control equipment used in demanding industrial and energy operations.
