London, UK (25 July 2019) – The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) brings you the first symposium on Caspian Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Social Responsibility taking place in Nur-sultan, Kazakhstan on 24–25 September.

Hosted by JSC NC “KazMunayGas” (KMG), the leading oil and gas company in Kazakhstan, it will bring together local, regional and global experts and practitioners from the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors to share best practice, progressive approaches and innovative applications to enhance HSE performance. 

In today’s corporate environment, HSE and sustainability play an equal role in the business mix with HSE-SR management going beyond systems, processes and competencies to incorporate wider factors such as human performance and cultural aspects. This is in order to achieve and sustain good HSE performance that will enhance asset value and increase profitability. 

The Opening Ceremony will include a Keynote Address by Minister Magzum Mirzagaliyev, who will be drawing on The Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources’ new activities including the process of developing a new Environmental Code

“We need to be ahead of the curve by being able to anticipate and create sustainable solutions for the future. Measures need to be taken to develop an environmental protection policy in conjunction with the oil & gas Industry along with conserving water resources, and protection of our natural resources, forests and wildlife. SPE’s HSE Symposium will offer many opportunities for discussion around a rich and diverse technical programme that will provide delegates the chance to build new professional relationships, discover new strategies and insights into the industry and share experiences with other HSE experts.
