EnergyPathways has elected Mermaid and MCS Subsea to work on its Marram gas development in the East Irish Sea. Both the companies have already signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) related to the project.

According to the provisional agreement, the Mermaid and MCS Subsea will be responsible for Marram's front-end engineering design (FEED) works, project support, procurement and offshore construction services.

Marram is located in licence P2490, part of Block 110/4A. EnergyPathways estimated that the field, located near the developed Morecambe gas complex, holds approximately 35 billion cubic feet (bcf) of 2P gas reserves.

The operator intends to develop Marram via a subsea tieback connected to two wells. Production should start by 2025.
