Oracle Energy (a joint venture formed by Oracle Power and Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum) and PetroChina International Middle East (PCME) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a green hydrogen project in Pakistan.

To be built in Sindh, the 400MW facility will be Pakistan’s first green hydrogen plant. According to the MoU, Oracle Energy will be responsible for the provision of green hydrogen from the plant to PCME, while PCME will manage the project’s offtake agreements and carbon credits trade.

The MoU is valid from 2 June 2023 onwards and will remain effective for five years after green hydrogen production starts. An option for extension from the parties is also possible.
