Technip Energies and KPSP have firmed an agreement with Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO) related to the Karachaganak gas and condensate field. Located in Kazakhstan, the Karachaganak has an ongoing project for the enhancement and expansion of its facilities and infrastructure.
The agreement was signed by TKJV, a 50/50 joint venture between Technip Energies and KPSP dedicated for the Kazakh market and created in 2019. According to it, the joint venture will carry out from consulting and conceptualisation to detailed engineering works.
The Karachaganak field is operational since 1984, spanning over 280km² and holding an estimated hydrocarbon initially in place (HIIP) of 13.6 billion barrels of oil and 59.4 trillion cubic feet of gas.
