Oil production in fields operated by the company in the pre-salt province in the Santos and Campos reached on April 11, 2015, the mark of 800,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd), setting new production record daily. Of this volume, about 74% (590,000 bpd) correspond to the company's share and the rest of the partner companies in various areas of production of pre-salt layer.

The production of 800 thousand barrels per day was reached just eight years after the first discovery of oil in the pre-salt layer, which occurred in 2006, less than the time it took to reach the same level in other maritime areas of production. For Petrobras reached in Brazil, oil production of 800,000 barrels per day it took 40 years, with the contribution of 6,374 wells. In the Campos Basin, the same volume of production was reached in 24 years, with 423 wells.

The mark of 800,000 bpd was achieved now in the pre-salt through 39 producing wells. Of these wells, 20 are located in the Santos Basin, which accounts for 64% of production (511,000 barrels per day). The remaining 19 wells are located in the Campos Basin and account for 36% of production (291,000 barrels per day).

On the record, 11 definitive production systems and an early production system were in operation in the pre-salt layer. Seven of these systems produced exclusively oil from this geological layer.

Contributed to the achievement of this record the beginning of the operation of the early production system installed in Buzios field in March this year, through the vessel platform Dynamic Producer, which was the first production of oil and long-term gas in the area called Assignment. In addition to this system, also contributed to this result the start of production of the P-20 platform in the pre-salt layer, in the Marlim field in the Campos Basin, which will be important for future increases in production in the area.
