The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee and Vagit Alekperov, President of LUKOIL.

The parties paid special attention to joint activities for arranging the processing of associated petroleum gas (APG) from the northern group of LUKOIL-Komi fields at the Sosnogorsk gas processing plant (GPP) of Gazprom. The process flow diagram for transmission, receiving and treatment of APG was noted to have been approved by now. Pre-construction and pre-development of essential gas transmission facilities are in progress.

The meeting also regarded the prospects for supplying gas from the LUKOIL-Ukhtaneftepererabotka refinery to the Sosnogorsk GPP for its further processing into marketable products (liquefied petroleum gases, stabilized condensate).

Background

Gazprom and LUKOIL signed the 2014–2024 General Agreement on Strategic Partnership to further cooperate in hydrocarbon feedstock supply, petrochemicals production as well as allocation of uncommitted oil and gas condensate resources at gas and oil processing plants both in Russia and abroad. The Agreement envisages cooperation in developing production capacities and infrastructure facilities, their sci-tech, environmental and HR support as well as in other areas.

Joint projects of Gazprom and LUKOIL include securing natural gas supply from LUKOIL fields in the Bolshekhetskaya Depression and the Northern Caspian Sea. In addition, together with their Kazakh partners they are engaged in geological exploration and development of the Tsentralnoye oil, gas and condensate field in the Caspian Sea.
